Young Jazz
For players of Saxophone, Brass (Trumpet and Trombone) and rhythm section instruments (Piano, Guitar, Bass and Drums).
Young Jazz exists to give players the opportunity to experience Big Band music, jazz and improvisation and to reap the benefits provided by this unique field of music.
Although the regular performances do much to spread the band’s reputation, it is in rehearsal that the quality is born. Structured to bring out the best in each individual and with the accent on fun, each player is fully stretched, aiming to make the band a model of what young musicians can achieve.
With a large and truly eclectic library from which to draw, Young Jazz are true ‘keepers of the flame’ and anyone lucky enough to hear them will not only be presented with the freshest sounds around but also the history of jazz.
