There are concessions for additional children in the same family. We can also offer financial help with part or all of the subscription.

You may pay your subscription at the Saturday morning SAYM Helpdesk desk at St Edmund’s School or by post to:

SAYM
Old Fire Station Enterprise Centre
Salt Lane
Salisbury

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Friends of SAYM’ . To pay directly from your bank account please quote the payer number on the subscription form – if you are new to SAYM the first payment will need to be by cash or cheque.

We want SAYM to be an inclusive music community. We would not want financial considerations to be a barrier to taking part in the musical opportunities that we offer. If you would like to discuss assistance with the payment of fees please email Richard Parsons – manager@saym.org.uk

The Wiltshire Rural Music School also has bursaries available for help with fees for lessons and ensemble activities such as SAYM – click here

SAYM has a small stock of instruments for loan, please email Anna Smith for more infomation – admin@saym.org.uk

Ensemble leaders will invite pupils to move up to the next group when they feel the pupil is ready to do so, this usually takes place at the end of the Summer term and not necessarily when the pupil has passed a grade.

If you would like to discuss your child moving group before they have been invited to, please contact the office to make sure the next ensemble has a suitable space for a new player and so the ensemble leaders can prepare the groups in time for the annual concert.

Please browse our ‘Our Groups’ section in the main website navigation to see what classes might suit you. If you need help you could either talk to you music teacher to see which group might suit you best or, if you’re still not sure why not come and join in a session as a ‘taster’ and we can advise the best group for you.

Please email Anna Smith for more information – admin@saym.org.uk

Ideally we would prefer you use your own instrument however, SAYM has a small stock of instruments for loan, please email Anna Smith for more infomation – admin@saym.org.uk

All classes are held at local venues within easy reach of the city centre.

Our musicians range from toddlers to 19 years.

Please browse our classes in the ‘Our Groups’ section where each class has an age range or a standard required where applicable.

SAYM is run by The Friends of SAYM (Charity No 1129482). All parents and players aged sixteen or over are invited to become members of the Friends and the committee is always happy to hear from members and parents who may like to play a more active role in SAYM’s success.

In recent years the FSAYM have assisted with costs in a number of areas

Purchase of new instruments and equipment
Purchase of new music
Purchase of various percussion items
Refurbishment and repair costs for a number of instruments
Purchase of music stands
Purchase of musicians seating
Provision of additional insurance cover for overseas tours

The Friends are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for members of SAYM. To do this it needs help and support not just financially, but physically as well. Without our volunteers we would not be able to run the tuck shops, concerts and other events. There are many ways you can get involved. If you are able to help out in any way please contact Anna Smith at admin@saym.org.uk

You can call Anna Smith on 07938 189 040, or you can pop in to a Saturday session at St Edmund’s School between 9:00 and 12:00 and have a chat with us.

Please visit our ‘Policies’ page here where you can download all our policies in PDF format.
